Shoulder symmetry myths on UK names
Why we stop students from forcing equal shoulders on mid-cap charts that never offered symmetry.

Textbook shoulders are tidy. FTSE mid-caps rarely are. In Studio we grade structure on swing clarity and neckline usefulness, not mirror-image beauty.
What still matters
A recognisable head above both shoulders, a neckline you can defend with prior reactions, and a story for volume on the right side. Forced symmetry often invents a right shoulder that price has not printed.
Classroom correction
If a student extends a trendline into empty space to “complete” the pattern, we erase the extension. Empty space is not confirmation.
